Spring Break Camp 2013 ~ April 1-5

Each day campers will explore the Nature Center with theme-related and age-appropriate stories, art, games, activities, journaling/observation time, and hikes. Campers will be divided by age and grade into smaller groups when appropriate.
Different Themes each day – come for one or all 5 days!
Register for multiple camps and receive $5 off of each additional camp
Ages 4-5: Half-Day Camps
Meet: Interpretive Center Front Desk, 9 am – noon
Fee: Members $20/day, Non-members $25/day
Materials: Bring a water bottle and wear weather-appropriate clothing. We will provide a snack. No electronics or distracting toys, please.
Session 1: Monday, April 1 ~ Terrific Turtles & Super Snakes
Turtles and snakes are radical reptiles with shells and scales. Learn all about these awesome scaly animals, meet the reptiles of KNC and see how many we can find in the woods and water!

Session 2: Tuesday, April 2 ~ Bird Brains
We are hatching a day of fun and exploring the world of birds. How do they build those nests? What do they really eat? Put your bird brain to work and have a blast with our feathered friends!

Session 3: Wednesday, April 3 ~ Frogs & Friends
Hop right to it and explore the slimy world of salamanders and frogs! Meet new animal friends and find out what makes them special!

Session 4: Thursday, April 4 ~ Gone Buggy
This camp is for kids who go absolutely buggy for butterflies, beetles and more. Search high and low for insects and their cousins, meet live bugs and live the bug’s life!

Session 5: Friday, April 5 ~ Pond Pals
Dive in and learn about the animals that live just below the surface of the pond. Hunt for bugs, fish, reptiles, amphibians and mammals.

Grades 1-5: Full-Day Camps
Meet: Interpretive Center Front Desk, 9 am – 5 pm
Fee: Members $40/day, Non-members $45/day
Materials: Bring a sack lunch (with snacks if desired) and a water bottle. Wear weather-appropriate clothing. No electronics or distracting toys, please.
Session 1: Monday, April 1 ~ Radical Reptiles
If you think that snakes are super and turtles are terrific then we have the camp for you! Explore the adaptations of our scaly neighbors, search for where they live and see them up close and personal.

Session 2: Tuesday, April 2 ~ Predator!
Every day our wild neighbors are going to work and hunting for their dinner. Find out how predators find their food without a credit card or a trip to the store, and meet a live hunter up close!

Session 3: Wednesday, April 3 ~ Awesome Amphibians
Frogs, and toads and salamanders, oh my! Become a herpetologist, explore amphibians, check out their hoppy homes and see them up close and personal.

Session 4: Thursday, April 4 ~ Bug Detectives
Solve the mysteries behind our creepy crawly neighbors. Learn how tell an insect from an insect impostor, find out cool and creepy bug facts, meet cockroaches, a tarantula and more!

Session 4: Thursday, April 4 ~ Farm Explorers
A day on the farm, come have fun with us as we take a tractor drawn wagon ride, meet some new baby chicks and explore the gardens at DeLano Farms!

Dive into the amazing world of ponds, streams and rivers and discover the creatures that live just below the surface. Hunt for bugs, fish, reptiles, amphibians and mammals.
